Northwest Immigrant Rights Project ProBAR Children's Assistance Project

American Bar Association PROBAR Children’s Project / Southwest Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR)

Established in 2003, The Children’s Project currently serves more than 1,000 detained, unaccompanied children at shelters in South Texas by providing them with “Know Your Rights” presentations and coordinating their legal representation.

ProBAR steps in soon after the children are transferred to shelters run by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There is a concentration of these facilities in Southwest Texas. The children served by ProBAR’s Children’s Project are among the most vulnerable individuals in need of legal representation in the U.S. today.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP)

NWIRP promotes justice by defending and advancing the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education. “We are connected by our common humanity, by global forces that affect our lives, and by historic patterns of oppression, discrimination and inequality. For society to be just and whole, we must work together to undo systemic oppression in its many forms.

Una fuerte comunidad Latina. A strong Latino community.
